Slow down on Vista Hermosa

Starting next week, park construction will constrict eastbound lanes and create a temporary 25 mph zone.

SUN POST NEWS

Work begins next week on a widening of Avenida Vista Hermosa in front of a future sports park.

The widening along Vista Hermosa between Camino Vera Cruz and Avenida La Pata will create a right-turn lane into the 42-acre park. During construction of the lane, the eastbound side of Vista Hermosa will be narrowed to one traffic lane and the city will impose a temporary 25 mph speed limit. Officials said it is critical for motorists to slow down in the construction zone.

City Hall announced that the 25 mph speed limit will be in effect 24 hours a day in the work zone. "We'll have extra patrol there," City Hall's Laura Ferguson said.
